Snack time in our classroom is a wonderful process to
practice grace and courtesy, fine motor skills, coordination and patience.
We start our snack time by singing about our shirt. While
we dance, Ms. Twining sings "Johnny is wearing a green shirt a green shirt
a green shirt, Johnny is wearing a green shirt, with an elephant on it
today!"
After washing and drying our hands we find our cup with
our name.
We have been working all year on pouring water from a
pitcher to a cup slowly and gently, and learning to stop before it over flows.
And then we may eat our snack. We also serve ourselves if
we choose to have more.
When we are finished eating, we clear our dishes and push
in our chairs.
